Dollar Tree Finds!

I wondered on over to the Dollar Tree the other day (I honestly can't remember what for) and I decided I needed a new hair brush, and found some other goodies there also. I thought I'd share what kind of things can be found at the Dollar Tree lately, and a few swatches too!

The ELF Lip Exfoliator pictured above was actually purchased at Target for $3, not at the Dollar Tree, but I thought I'd include it. Basically it's an exfoliating lip scrub in the shape of a lipstick and it tastes like vanilla. Simple enough.

I did pick up the hair brush, and also a couple larger clips for keeping my hair out of my face while putting my makeup on, or doing my hair. They came together 2-in-1.

The LA Colors Rapid Dry Top Coat is a bit of a disappointment for me. It's super runny like water, and it drags through my polish leaving little track marks. It also doesn't dry rapidly AT ALL. Granted it's only a $1, but pass on it.

If you watch my YouTube videos you know I am LOVING the ELF Matte Lip Colors. I have 5 out of the 6 available shades now, and found all of them at the Dollar Tree, although they are still available at Target and online. The shade I passed on is Praline because it's just too dark brown for me. The color I did pick up this time is Coral, which I was super pumped up about. It's a beautiful peachy nude color, and reminds me a bit of Just Peachy by Wet n Wild (one of my all time faves!)

I also found a bunch of the Rimmel Glam Eye quads. I didn't however realize they were quads and not trios, until I was swatching the last one. So the first 2 palettes only show 3 swatches, not 4. Oops! They did have a few more shades available, I just picked up the ones I was interested in. I have worn the gold one already, and it is pretty nice. The only complaint I have is that the little strips of eyeshadow are really hard to get into, even with the little sponge applicator. While it is pretty to look at, the packaging leaves much to be desired in terms of usage. Swatches of everything is below!

My Look: Selfie Queen

Do you take a lot of selfies on days you feel super sexy? I do. I probably took 20 pictures of myself today, just because I feel so good about myself I guess I needed to document it LOL.

I did my bangs super side swept today, and threw a couple extension tracks in to give me a real good side bun. I'm totally digging it, and feel rather sassy today.

My Look: Rose Gold & Purple

This was a look I wore a day last week. I've worn a look very similar to this before, as I quite like the pairing of colors. Of course in these photos, I'm wearing no lip color as usual. (Seriously what kind of makeup blogger am I? lol) In the closeups my brows look totally whack, like I don't know how to match brow color. I assure you it looks fine in real life, it just looks weird in these pictures.

My Look: Cranberry Crush

I love Instagram. The filters just make such pretty pictures (see above haha).

I purchased a couple of the new balm stain thingy's by Jordana. The colors I chose were Candied Coral (woah baby, in your face color!) and also Cranberry Crush, which I am wearing in this look. I'm really super liking them. "Super liking"? I think I just turned 5 years old LOL. Anywho, I think the cranberry shade is such a perfect fall color. If you know me, bold lips scare the crap out of me, but I can work this one.

Excuse lack of close up shot in this post, as again, this are iPhone pictures done on a whim. My bad.

Ah, the awkward smirk. What a gem.

My Look: Super Big & Messy

I've gotten into this terrible habit ever since I started YouTube of not doing my face of the day posts here on the blog. That's a bummer because that's what I started this blog for in the first place. I will however post them to Instagram. Things that make you go "hmmmm?" I swear. I'm gonna do a couple posts to catch up on Instagram looks, and then I will try SUPER hard to be more consistent here on the 'ole bloggeroonie.

To all the husbands, dads and boyfriends out there....

I know this is a makeup and beauty related blog, but hear me out. Sometimes I just have have things I need to get out, and writing it out and throwing it to the universe just settles my brain. I must preface this by saying a few things: 1) First and foremost I am a wife and mother of 4 little boys. That is my top title in life. 2) No, I am not having issues with my husband lol. It's just something I think any mom and/or wife can relate to. That being said....

Being a stay at home mom does not mean I don't have a job. I do have a job: cook, laundress, chauffeur, coach, referee, maid, and all around jack of all trades. I do not get paid to do any of it. I work from sun up until way after everyone else is sleeping and I don't earn one red cent. I get paid in "thank you", hugs, kisses and little tokens of appreciation. More often than not, I get none of that. The floor does not magically sweep itself. Your dinner does not pop out of the table like on the Jetsons. Your laundry does not just appear in your dresser all folded and fresh. I did that. Me, by myself.

I know you go to work, and you clock in your 40 hours a week. I get it, I appreciate it. Your doing that provides our family with the tools it needs to survive. But just know, I make your life work, so you can go to work. I feed you, I wash your nasty work clothes. I pick up and wash the dishes you leave laying around. I dig all of your socks out from under the bed so you can have a fresh clean pair. I make sure your alarm is set and on before I go to sleep every night. I do all of these things and much more, without being asked to because it's my JOB.

While you are at work clocking those hours, I have: gotten the kids up, fed, dressed and on the school bus. I've probably done one or two loads of laundry. I've vacuumed the house, and washed dishes. I make lunch for the little one, and bake an after school snack for the others. I've probably also done things like scrub the toilet, wipe down the mirrors. Rearrange furniture, wipe out cabinets. I've most likely also cleaned out closets, picked up A LOT of toys. I may have gone to the grocery store. Taken care of the pets, and maybe if I'm really lucky I got to take a shower too.

After you get home and are lounging on the couch, resting your eyes most likely, I am cooking dinner. I'm also washing dishes yet again. I'm also bathing your children, and getting school clothes ready for the morning. I am taking care of bedtime, which in my house can last up to 4 hours. I am packing lunches, and picking up any last minute things laying around. After all that is finally done, I get to have a little ME time. That's not usually until about 10 or 11 at night. You need to understand that "me" time is vital to our life. Without it, my brain cannot reset itself for the next day, and I cannot possibly be a nice person. If you ask for some special "us" time, and are gently turned down -  do not whine, cry and pout. It is not because I don't love you. I really honestly am tired. Read the above if you can't understand that. Making me feel guilty about it, or pressured into it is just going to make me resent you.

In closing dear husbands of the world, we wives love you. We do a lot for you, a lot that most generally go unnoticed. A little appreciation can go a long way in that "special us time" you were really hoping for.

And ladies, if you can relate to me on this: can I get an "amen!"  :)
