I ❤ Real Techniques!!

About a year ago a purchased a brush set from Coastal Scents, and while the eye brushes are holding up fine, the face brushes took a crap. I received 2 flat top kabuki type brushes instead of one (score!), but sadly they both met the garbage quite a long time ago. They both shed so bad that eventually the whole entire bristle part just fell out. The handles have all been hot glued back to the ferrule of every single face brush. Basically, I was in need of new face brushes.

About 4 months ago I purchased my first set of Real Techniques brushes from Ulta. I decided to go with the Core Collection to try out. I fell in LOVE!!! They are so, so soft. There is not a traditional ferrule to the brushes, which is nice, because mine always come loose. Instead they have long aluminum type handles that the bristles fit into. These brushes wash like a dream, and dry pretty darn quickly, compared to a lot of other brushes. Needless to say, after that I just kept on picking up more brushes. I now have quite a collection, and I thought I'd share with you my favorite ways to each brush.

30 Day Squat Challenge

I saw this on Facebook last night, and thought "You know, I'm gonna try this!" As most of you may know if you've been a long time reader, I have 4 little boys. I would like to get my body back as close to pre-baby as possible before I turn 30. I just feel like the older a woman gets, the harder it is to lose weight. Losing weight sounds stupid, that's not my goal. My goal is to get in shape. I have the baby pooch, and the love handles. Lets get real ladies, they bother us all don't they? I've been trying to make more conscious, healthy choices in my life to get me where I want to be. I'm not an exercise person, I quit going to the gym after 5 months. I feel however, that I can add this into my day. I don't need to drive to the gym, I don't need to leave the house. I can do my squats everyday and feel good about myself. I'm also trying to drink less pop (I have a very unhealthy addiction to Mountain Dew) and drink more water. I've also cut back my snacking a lot.

So what do you think? Anyone else want to join me in this challenge? Let me know in the comments below, and wish me luck! Squats are very hard to do actually, and I'm dreading those 200+ squat days ahead of me LOL.

Much love and healthiness,

Swatchfest: ELF Baked Eyeshadows

I picked up 2 of these eyeshadows about 2 months ago, and picked up 3 more today. I thought I'd put them all together in one post for anyone who may be curious about them.

These are newer products from ELF, and can be found at Target or Kmart. (I'm hearing that ELF is now starting to show up in Walgreens also) As these are part of the Studio Line, these retail for $3. Some preform better than others, but all 5 that I own are very pretty. Being baked products, remember you can use them wet or dry. Each swatch shown is dry on the left, wet on the right.

Pixie

Pixie is a rosy pink shade that looks gorgeous in the pan. Unfortunately it does not swatch fantastically, and I fear it may not transfer well to the eyelid.

Enchanted

Enchanted is a rose gold shade that is again, gorgeous in the pan. This was one of the first 2 shades that I purchased. I have worn this one a few times now, but like Pixie, it doesn't transfer very well. YOu really need to work with it to build it up.

Burnt Plum

Burnt Plum is, obviously, a darkened red purple. It's absolutely beautiful, and I think will look great on the eyelid. I think this one will look so so pretty on blue eyed girls.

Toasted

Toasted is somewhat similar to Enchanted, but a bit darker and more pigmented. It's a golden bronze shade. I have also worn this one a few times, and it looks gorgeous paired with another deeper gold shade.

Bark

Bark definitely has the best pigmentation of all the shades I own. It is a deep bronze brown. You know I love my browns! This one looks awesome, and I can't wait to wear it!

More New Shades from Wet n WIld MegaLast Collection

Yes, I am a hoarder. I also broke my own rule of only buying 7 nail polishes for the entire year. I can't help it!! Wet n Wild MegaLast line is my favorite brand OF LIFE, and when they launched 40 new shades, I almost peed my pants.

Here is a quick bottle shot of 4 more shades I recently acquired. (I have a couple more also that I forgot to snap of picture of). I just recorded a video about these new polishes, so look forward to the accompanying swatch post in the very near future!
