My Look: Super Big & Messy

I've gotten into this terrible habit ever since I started YouTube of not doing my face of the day posts here on the blog. That's a bummer because that's what I started this blog for in the first place. I will however post them to Instagram. Things that make you go "hmmmm?" I swear. I'm gonna do a couple posts to catch up on Instagram looks, and then I will try SUPER hard to be more consistent here on the 'ole bloggeroonie.

Swatch & Comparison: Naked Basics

**WARNING: This post is going to be pic heavy, so I will put a jump in the post**

Look what I got for Valentine's Day..... Naked!! :-)
I have been going back and forth on wether or not I wanted this palette, and now that's it's mine I know I love it! The texture and pigmentation of these shadows are far superior to any other Urban Decay shadows I have. I know they reformulated, but these are even more buttery than the Vice Palette.

This palette comes with 6 shades that are just perfect for pairing with any of the Naked palettes, or using it on it's own. 1 shade is a satin finish, and the other 5 are matte. None of the matte shades are powdery or chalky, they are all super smooth.

Palette Series: Urban Decay - Original Naked Palette

Hey guys! I have another look for you using another one of my palettes. You can see the video on my youtube channel (link!) This was the look I wore to the family Christmas party at my mom's house. Just an easy, neutral eye and red festive lips. Here is a list of products I used to complete this look, hope you enjoy!!

My Look: I Blue It

I have come to the conclusion that I am much, MUCh better at applying gel liner than I am at liquid. It doesn't matter what type of tip it has, how fine it is, I just suck at liquid liner. Gel liner is so much easier!

You may also notice that I dyed my hair brunette. I wanted to cover up the pink, as it was fading pretty quickly. Well let me tell you, I destryoed my beautiful blonde highlights for nothing! My hair is now a pinky purple color underneath! It also has an ashy green tint to it from being blonde before. I couldn't win for anything this time around. We'll see what happens after I wash it a few times.

Keep reading to see what I used for this look!

My Look: Blue Cat Liner

Ugh... I'm such a blogging slacker. I wish I could devote as much time as I would like to my blog and youtube channel, but I have 4 children. It's summer vacation, and my husband is on swing shift. It's stressful here, I hope you all understand, and forgive me. =)

For this look, I decided I didn't want to do a bold eye shadow look. Sometimes I get frustrated at my blending abilities (stupid hooded lids!) I decided I'd do a bold eye liner instead, and you're going bold, you better go big or go home. So I chose blue liner instead of black. Enjoy!

My Look: Summer Sunset

Hi my loves! Do any of you watch MacBarbie07 on youtube? She is just as cute as a button, if you ask me. She did a video on the $20 makeup challenge, and I just loved the look she came up with! I tweaked it a bit to suit my face better, but I love how this looked. Because I am so behind on blogging, this is actually a picture from last Saturday, right before my tooth broke (doh!). I have since had my tooth reattached, and I'm as good as new! ;)

My Look: Girls Night Out

I'm headed out with some of my favorite ladies tonight, so I'm all dolled up. I love it when I have lots of time to get ready, it gives me a chance to play around with my makeup =)  I also needed to practice false eyelashes, considering I have bridal makeup to do in a couple weeks. I figured now is as good an opportunity as any!

Bridal Makeup Trial Run

My soon to be sister-in-law asked me yesterday if I would do her makeup for the wedding. I'm totally stoked about it! Totally fitting to the situation, Sam Schuerman posted a youtube video of a bridal look yesterday. I decided to take it for a trial run today to make sure I'd be able to do a good job at it. I absolutely love how it turned out! It's very delicate and feminine, and not too "made up". I'll post the video link below if you'd like to check it out.

New Hair & A Look of the Day

I have been wanting to do hair extensions for quite some time now. However, I can't afford the beaded ones, or to go to a salon every six weeks. My solution? Clip in extensions I can do myself. I can wear them when I want, or take them off when I don't want them. It's not such a big commitment this way. I also don't have to have them readjusted as my hair grows out. The extensions I am wearing I purchased at Sally Beauty Supply. They are the Euronet 18" Clip In Extensions by Remy. My color is Blonde Frost. I do have a Sally's card which saved me $10, plus there is an extra $10 off right now, so these were $99.

  • Hard Candy Sheer Envy primer
  • Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse foundation
  • Rimmel Match Perfection concealer
  • NYX Stay Matte Not Flat powder foundation
  • Sephora eyebrow pencil
  • Milani blush in Luminoso
  • MAC Painterly Paint Pot
  • (From Naked palette) 'Sin'  eye shadow on lid
  • 'Naked' eye shadow in crease
  • 'Virgin' eye shadow as brow highlight
  • Maybelline Master Drama eyeliner in Made of Steel on lower waterline
  • Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara

Why So Many Nudes??!!

Yesterday I decided to take a little time for myself, and off I headed to the mall. That in itself just spells bad news for my wallet. Of course I ended up at Ulta (don't I always?) While pursuing the aisles I came upon the new Physicians Formula Nude Eyes Shimmer Strips. It was so cutely packaged, so pretty, I had to have it. So I did. When I got home I went to find it a home among my collection. As I'm doing so, I realized I just bought ANOTHER neutral palette. What the F*** is wrong with me??!!! I have so many nude, natural, neutral palettes and the like already. *Sigh* Houston.... I think we have a problem. Here's a look into my Hall of Shame.

Wet n Wild singles in Nutty & Brulee, Ulta Baked Duo in Natural Beauty, L'Oreal Hip Duo in Bustling, CoverGirl Tapestry Taupe, MAC Naked Lunch, MAC Satin Taupe, ELF duo in Butter Pecan, and Revlon Nude Slip.

Too Faced Natural Eye palette, NYX trio in Aloha/Mink/Deep Bronze, Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells, Wet n Wild Vanity palette, Physicians Formula Nude Eyes palette, ELF quad in Butternut, Too Faced quad from the Beautiful Dreamer collection.

Urban Decay Naked palette, Urban Decay Naked 2, and Coastal Scents 88 Warm palette.

See what I mean? If I ever say to myself,  "I need another brown eye shadow", I hope I have enough sense to slap the shit out of myself. Does anyone else have an abundance of neutral eye shadows? Do I need to check into rehab? Heaven help me..... =D

The Sunday Nudes

It's Sunday, so today I used my Urban Decay Naked Palette. Here's the look I came up with:

Face:
  • ELF Tinted Moisturizer in Nude
  • Rimmel Match Perfection concealer
  • Mary Kay Mineral Powder foundation
  • ELF Golden Bronzer (cheeks, top of nose, temples)
  • Sephora blush in Abricot Plaiser

Eyes:
  • ELF Eyelid Primer
  • Naked (all over lid)
  • Smog (windshield wiper motions all over crease. Blended A LOT)
  • Darkhorse ( to intensify crease. Blend out)
  • Buck (lightly all over previous 2 colors, blended well)
  • Virgin (brow highlight)
  • Black liquid liner
  • Creep (on top of liner to set)
  • Smog (again, smudged under lower lash line)
  • Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara
The key to this look is to BLEND, BLEND, BLEND. It makes it look effortless, and little smokey.

I hope all you lovelies are having a fabulous weekend!

My Naked Palette Go-To Look

I love, love, love my Urban Decay Naked palette! On those days when I just don't feel like being creative with my makeup, I grab for this palette and this is what I wear.

1) Urban Decay Primer Potion as primer/ base. (This comes with the palette)
2) Using a patting motion, place Sidecar (shimmery pink) on outer half of the lid, sweep up into the crease.
3) Using a patting motion again, apply Sin (shimmery champagne pink) on inner half of lid, and into tear duct area.
4) Blend the color Toasted (darkened shimmery pink) into the crease.
5) Line the lower waterline with a black eyeliner.
6) Line upper and lower lash lines using Hustle (shimmery deep plum) and an angled, or detail brush.
7) Curl lashes, apply mascara. I used CG Lash Blast.

On the rest of my face in this picture I am wearing Milani "Luminoso" blush, and Rimmel "Airy Fairy" lipstick.

This is such a quick and easy look to pull together. All the colors compliment each other so well, it doesn't even take any thought ;)

Happy Beautifying!

* I am wearing a hot pink clip-in extension I purchased at Sally's for $3.

New Goodies - and a LOTD!

So today I got use my new Urban Decay Naked palette! So excited!! I saved up for it and I got the last one at Ulta. These babies have been selling out for a year now, that's crazy. Yes, it is expensive ($48) but it doesn't seem bad when you factor it all out. A single Urban Decay e/s is $17, and there are 12 in this palette. You also get a small size Urban Decay Primer Potion (lid primer), and the small size is $9. You also get an e/s brush which is $20 on it's own. So $233 worth of makeup for $48 is not too bad at all.
I only used 2 brushes for this look today. I also did something I've never done before: RED lip stick! I hope you enjoy!
1) Prime the lids. I used NYX Jumbo Pencil in "Milk", which is a creamy matte white.
2) Using a fluffy brush, I applied the color "Virgin" (lightest color, white frost) all over my lid, inner tear duct, and for my brow highlight.
3) Next I applied the color "Naked" (light matte brown) to my crease, and blended up.
4) Still using the same fluffy brush, I applied the color "Buck" (darker matte brown) just into the crease to deepen it. Using the fluffy brush is doing 2 steps in one by applying the color and blending at the same time. It's also giving you a less defined, more natural look.
5) Using a brown eyeliner, I lined my upper lid and my lower waterline.
6) Using a small detail brush, I applied the color "Darkhorse" (darkest brown, frosted shade) to my outer V, and over the brown eyeliner. I also smudged it slightly under the lower lash line.
7) I curled my lashes, and applied my Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara.
8) For the rest of my face I contoured my cheeks lightly with my NYC bronzer, and used my Hard Candy blush on the apples of my cheeks. It gives you more of a glow, rather than a color.
9) On my lips I used my Carmex lip balm, and topped it with "Ruby" lipstick by NYC. I've never used red lipstick before (it kind of scares me!) I'm still not sure how I feel about it. Thoughts?

Happy beautifying!!
