March Faves

I realize it's not quite the end of the month, but I felt like doing my favorites now anyway :-p I will gone next weekend (the end of the month) doing wedding festivities with my brother, so I figured now was a good time.

I do not have a TON of stuff, as there are things I am using every single day to use up. You can check out my post on that HERE. I will be posting on update to that very soon also.

January Favorites

It's now the 6th of February, and I'm just now doing last months favorites. Slacker much? Now that I'm working every morning during the week, I've been doing very quick, simple, neutral eye looks. I do have a few things that I reached for over and over again throughout the month however.

  • Maybelline Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner (still perfecting that cat eye liner)
  • Maybelline Falsies Flared mascara
  • MAC Painterly paint pot
  • Original Carmex (my lips are sooo dry!)
  • Urban Decay e/s in Naked
  • Urban Decay e.s in Sidecar
  • Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Natural (pretty sure this is now my Holy Grail blush)
  • Maybelline Eye Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze  (looks AWESOME paired with Sidecar!)
  • B&BW lotion in Pink Chiffon

Beauty Academy Awards 2011

All products mentioned are from my own collection. You may feel there is something better in each category, but I can only go by what I actually own =) As with the regular Academy Awards, there will be a handful of nominees in each category, and an overall winner. This is just for fun, this is not a totally serious thing. I thought this would be a fun way to do my year end favorites. Enjoy!

November Favorites

As you know, I have been going by a schedule this November. It is located to the right hand side of the blog. Anywhoozle, I thought it would be fun to pick ONE specific color, or whatever, from each palette that especially loved using this month. Also, my favorite look from every category.

Drugstore:

  • ELF 32 palettes- Brights. I love the bright purple in this palette. It has nice pigmentation, and love the color of it.
  • Wet n Wild gel liner - I am still getting the hang of gel liners, but I really enjoy this. It is easy to apply, and it is VERY black.

Urban Decay- Naked Palette:
  • Darkhorse - I used this color again today (but no sun doesn't help to get pics). I love this deep brown. It has some shimmer to it, which takes the deepness down a bit, I feel that way anyway.
  • For some reason I only posted one Naked palette look all month, weird.

Urban Decay- 15th Anniversary Collection
  • Evidence - I LOVE this blue! It's so deep and dreamy.

Too Faced
  • Push-Up - This is such a cool color. It's a rosey gold, pinkish, bronzey bundle of awesomeness. This is in the Natural Eye palette.
  • Don't Call Me Poppy - I am really enjoying this poppy, pinkish blush. I have this in a duo from my Beautiful dreamer collection.
Coastal Scents
  • It's so hard to explain colors in CS palettes, as they have no names and there is 88 colors in them. I especially like the teals I used for my Eagles look this month, but the whole palette is amaze-balls.

What I've learned this month is that I love a lot of things in my collection. It was hard to force myself to use something on some days when I wanted to use others, but I'm glad I shopped my collection. It was fun to do something, and use something, different everyday. Will I post everyday next month? Probably not. I will do a schedule again in the future, but not next month. My favorite palette to use all month, hands down? Urban Decay 15th Anniversary. I was excited every Thursday because I couldn't wait to use it.
What were your favorite looks this month? Happy Beautifying!

October Faves!

It's the beginning of a new month, so you know what that means.... time for my favorites from last month. I actually just wore a lot a neutral looks, so I don't have a huge variety of products here.

Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse
I won't go into detail here, if you want a review of this foundation click HERE.

Maybelline Lots of Lashes mascara
I actually enjoy this mascara quite a bit. I've never really liked the regular Great Lash, it's too wet and gloppy for me. This formula is still a little wet, but it's more workable. I enjoy the shape of the brush. It's a little rubber cone. The purpose of course, is to help get to those hard to reach lashes.

Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Underground
I have raved about this eyeliners before, so I won't do a repeat here. Underground is a metallic taupe shade, and like to use it on the lower lash line when doing a neutral eye look.

Urban Decay eye shadow in Mindnight 15
I purchase the UD 15th Anniversary palette last month, and while I enjoy the entire thing, I particularly like 2 colors for everyday wear. Midnight 15 is one of those colors. It is a frosty champagne color, is the best I can describe it. I like to use this color on my lid.

Urban Decay eye shadow in Chase
This is the other color I use a lot from my UD 15th Anniversary palette. Chase is a beautiful taupey gold shade. I use this in my crease, and also line my lower lash line.

Urban Decay eye shadow in Naked
This shade comes from the UD Naked palette. It is a light, matte, taupe color. I like to use it to blend out my crease colors.

NYC bronzer in Sunny
You didn't think we'd have a monthly favorite without this, did you? ;)  I actually didn't wear a lot of blush last month, just bronzer. And if I'm doing bronzer, you know it's gonna be Sunny! =)

Also this month I am enjoying my John Frieda shampoo called Sheer Blonde: Color Renew. It is a purple shampoo specially designed for blonde hair to prevent brassiness. Since I recently dyed my hair blonde again, I am using this shampoo in hopes I won't have orange hair within a month. So far, so good =)

What were your favorite products last month?  Happy beautifying lovelies!!

September Favorites!

Brushes:
Pink leopard fluffy brush ($2 Meijer)
e.l.f concealer brush ($1 Target)
e.l. face brush ($1 Target)

The blending brush was in my August faves and will stay in my favorites unless I ever find one better (doubtful!) I use the tiny concealor brush for topping my eyeliner off with eye shadow and smudging under the lower lashline. I don't have an angeled brush and this one does the job. I use the large face brush to dust my e.l.f bronzer palette all over my face for a little glow. It's also good for blending out blush.

Face Products:
Clean & Clear foaming facial wash ($4 Walmart)
e.l.f tinted moisturizer ($3 Target)
e.l.f Golden bronzer palette ($3 Target)
NYC bronzer in "Sunny" ($3 Walmart)
Rimmel Match Perfection concealer ($4 Walmart)
Milani Baked Blush in "Luminoso" ($6.50 Meijer)

I use the facial wash every night to remove my makeup. I even use it on my eyelids. I use the tinted moisturizer everyday. I am not a liquid foundation gal, so this is a nice alternative for me. It also has SPF 20 in it. I use the Golden bronzer palette all over my face. I dust it on very lightly and it just gives me a little color (my poor tan is all gone, boo hoo!) Good 'ole Sunny bronzer! This one will always be in my favorites! I really like this Rimmel concealor. It's not cakey at all, and it has a little built in brush for application. The Milani blush is my new love! I still love my NYX blush, but I am into more peachy colors right now, and this one is beyond GORGEOUS!

Eye Products:
Covergirl Lash Blast mascara ($7 Walmart)
Coastal Scents 88 Warm palette ($25 CoastalScents.com)
NYC black pencil eye liner ($1 Walmart)

I'm back to loving my Lash Blast. I am a mascara junkie, and use a lot of different ones all the time, but my most reached for this month was the Last Blast. It's just such an awesome mascara, highly reccomend it to anyone! I can't tell you how glad I am that I got that CS palette on sale! It's so versatile, and it has so many colors I never get bored with it. It's also gret since we are into fall now and it has a lot of neutral tones in it. if you are going to order from CS, get this palette!

Lip Products:
Rimmel Long Lasting lipstick in "Airy Fairy" ($ Walmart)
NYX Mega Shine lip gloss in "Sweetheart" ($5.50 Ulta)

I can't get enough of this lipstick! It's so creamy, so pretty, and lasts a really long time. It's the perfect shade of pink for me. NYX lip glosses smell SO good! Some say it smells like gummy bears, or sweet tarts. I say it smells like cupcakes. I love this shade because it's such a great nude color with a hint of peachy goodness in it.

Other:
O.P.I nail polish in "You Don't Know Jaques!" ($8.50 Ulta)

This is the first O.P.I nail polish I've ever owned. I mean $8.50 is a little crazy for a nail polish. The brush on this is so awesome though! It is flat and wide and makes application a dream! This shade is PERFECT for fall. Everything about just screams Autumn to me :) * Side note: I swatched this and another color of mine called "Nirvana" by Sinful Colors. They are exact dupes! So if you are intersted in this O.P.I shade but don't want to shell out the money, "Nirvana" is only $1.99.

August Favorites!

top to bottom, L to R:

~ TreSemme Tres Two hairspray. $2.97. This stuff is AWESOME, and it smells great!
~ Clean and Clear Foaming Facial cleanser. $3.47. Gets all the makeup off wonderfully.
~ Equate (Walmart) Blackhead Scrub. $2.97. This is really nice, the "scrub" is not harsh at all.
~ CoverGirl "Tapestry Taupe" eye shadow. $3.20. You know this would make it, I use it in every blog lol
~ NYX "Pinched" blush. $5.99. OMG, I die for this blush! It's amazing, and it's also a dupe for the NARS "Orgasm" which costs $27. Double win =)
~ Essence eyeliner marker. $2.49. This works awesome, and the pen form is way easier than the brush
~ Essence Multi-Action False Lash Mascara. $3.49. I love my Lash Blast, but this stuff is amazing!!
~ Fluffy eye shadow/crease brush. $2.97 (for a 2 pack!) I forgot the brand, but this brush is SO soft!
~ Wet N Wild purple eyeliner. $ .69- $ .99  I've been loving me some purple eyes lately haha
~ NYC "Sunny" bronzer. $2.99. BEST PRODUCT EVER. This will probably be on my monthly fave every time because I use this every single day. Best matte bronzer out there in my opinion.

Close up of brush, eyeliner, and "Pinched" blush

Those are my most used things this month. I'm obviously excited about them because I used the word "awesome" a lot, and lots of these: !!!!!!!!   hehe
I hope you all had a wonderful and beautiful August. Happy beautifying!!
