Weekly Makeup Bag 1/26 - 2/1

Before I get into this post, I just have to give you all a quick update about my life at this moment.

As you may (or may not) know, I have 4 little boys. My oldest is 8 and the baby is 2. On Monday my 4 year old started coughing and running a fever. By Tuesday he was full blown sick. he slept ALL day until I have to take him to a doctors appointment. High fevers in the 103* range. Not fun. We got him some meds, but he is still coughing like crazy. Of course it spreads like wildfire. The baby got sick on Wednesday night/ Thursday morning. By today my oldest was sick enough to stay home from school. So basically we have all been living in our pajamas, stuck in the house, all week. Lots of Baby Sicky's up in here. I'm sure by the morning the last healthy one will have been contaminated. Needless to say, not a whole lot of fun makeup going on this week. Not to mention my greasy ass hair that no one wanted to see photographed LOL. I am showered and clean now, so we'll see what tomorrow holds.

So let's get on to what this post is ACTUALLY about. I'm back to posting Weekly Makeup Bags. I actually do these every single week, but haven't been posting them for some reason. Most of the things in the bag stay the same but I do swap out blushes, highlighters, mascara, things of that nature. I also don't include eyeshadows anymore, as I like to switch it up daily. If you are curious about my actual makeup bag, I found mine on sale at Meijer for about $7, but I have also seen it at Target.

So what's in this jumbled mess??

My Look: Winter Blues

Hi my loves!

I'm having this issue lately where I keep taking pictures of my makeup looks to blog, then I don't do it. That leads to me not remembering what I used when it comes time for me to blog it.
LOL #bloggerissues #lazyass
I'm just going to put a notepad and pen on my vanity so I remember to write it down everyday.

I DID however remember this one, as it was just the other day.
I'm not normally one to wear a lot of blue eyeshadow. I'm not the worlds greatest makeup artist, so I can tend to look a tad 80's with blue shades sometimes. I think this look turned out alright though. You be the judge, let me know in the comments. Am I Olivia Newton-John "Let's get Physical", or is it alright? ;-)

Face:
NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny
L'Oreal True Match blush in Innocent Flush
WnW Fergie highlight in Rose Champagne Glow

Eyes:
MAC Painterly paint pot
Maybelline Eyestudio quad in Spirited Seas
Ulta pencil liner in Indigo
Rimmel ScandalEyes mascara

Swatchfest: Tarte cheek stain in Flush

I am still trying to get the rest of these swatch posts done from my Sephora Faves: In the Glow kit. The holidays screwed me all up and I am still in lazy mode LOL.

I have to be honest about this particular product, I have not tried it on my cheeks yet. I was completely frightened by it just looking at it in the packaging. It seems like such a dark vampy color to wear as blush. As you can see from the swatch, it is much more sheer than it appears. I can not testify as to just how much it stains the cheeks, or how it lasts. When I have a better feel for it, I will follow this up with a review post.

Beauty Resolutions for 2013

Hello again my loves! I hope you all had the very best holiday season, and spent time with family and loved ones! I also hope this new year brings you good things, and happy days!

I've never been one for New Years Resolutions, I usually fail within the first 2 days. The problem is I am OCD, and if I screw up at all, I just give up because I'm not perfect. (One of many things I need to learn to deal with)

I've decided this year to do Beauty Resolutions. I'm not going to be too terribly hard on myself, as I don't want to set myself up for disaster (lol!). I've thought long and hard about these for the last 2 days, and I think all of these things are very feasible for me to stick to.

1. No buying any new eyeliners. I have way too many already.

2. Only purchase lip products I am POSITIVE I will get a lot of use out of.

3. Wear lip products on a more regular basis. Use it or lose it. Enough said.

4. I am limiting myself to 7 new nail polishes for the entire year.

5. I am also limiting myself to shopping to 2 times a month. I also need to really think about my purchases, not just buying anything because it's on clearance, or on sale, or because everyone has it.

6. Take better care of my skin.

7. No new lotions or body sprays. I need to use up the majority of what I already own first.

8. Make a better effort to do my hair on a regular basis. I'm sick of looking like a bum 24/7.

On a more "professional" level:

1. Blog at least 3 times a week. I have been neglecting you guys lately. I really love blogging, and I should make more time for it.

2. Set a schedule for making videos, and just get better at it in general.

What are your resolutions for 2013??

Thank you for reading, and for following my blog. I appreciate you all, and it still blows my mind that there are people out there who actually want to read what I write. You are all amazing people!
