One of my fave viewers/ readers Liz (Hi Liz!!) requested me to do this tag. This is actually a YouTube tag, but I think it's easier for me to do a blog post. I can show pictures of what I'm talking about. If you aren't familiar with this, this is basically 5 products I'd love to get my hands on. Will I ever get them all, who knows? I know one for sure I'd never pay full price for, but that's the fun in this.
Hi guys! Here's a fun video I did a week or so ago (finally figured out how to upload it to my laptop). This was really nerve-racking to do! I challenge you all to do it too, even if you don't make youtube videos or anything. It's pretty hard! lol I realize now that I forgot to do my eyebrows, but I'm hoping you all will forgive me ;-)
By the way, I don't know why this is showing a super scary, crazy thumbnail. That is not the one I picked, but it won't go away. Sorry!! haha
I just wanted to point out that at the top of my blog there are a few tabs you can click on. One says 'Polish Stash', which lists every polish in my collection. Everything that I have swatched is linked. So if you scroll through the list and see something you like, click the name (if applicable) to take you directly to the swatch post.
Hello my loves! I got to thinking earlier: it's almost the end of summer. Holy cow! How in the hell did that happen?? If you have kids, like me, then you know school will be starting again very soon (whoo hoo!) With then end of summer comes fall and winter. In the makeup world that means something important: goodbye colorful makeup and nails, hello neutrals and Earth tones! So what I was thinking is this: I need to wear my colorful things while I still can. I need to lay off the neutrals for a while, because they will be getting good use very soon.
I am rocking coral nails (Jessie's Girl 'JulieG' actually), and I decided to do a teal colored eye. I used my Too Faced Summer Eye palette for this look. To see what I did, keep reading!
Hi loves! Today I have for you the very much searched for by me, new Color Tattoos. Very exciting stuff ladies! I have been searching high and low for these babies. I've been to probably 5 different Rite Aids, 2 Walgreens, and Meijer. No luck. Then last night, I just had a feeling. I told my husband to pull into this Rite Aid, and there they were! A full display just for me! ;-)
I did notice on the display that they are repromoting 2 permanent shades with collection: Bad to the Bronze and Audacious Asphalt (which I already own). They also have a little eyeshadow brush on the display, to use with these products I am assuming. There are 4 shades total in this collection, but I only picked up 3. (I'm thinking I may pick up the green one as well). These retail for $6.69 each at Rite Aid. There are no deals going on with Maybelline this week unfortunately, but I did have a $2 UPreward coupon, bring my total to $20.
The 3 shades I picked up, as you can see in the above picture: are Barely Beige, Gold Shimmer, and Rich Mahogany.
I picked this little gem up on clearance at Rite Aid for only $2.99. Not sure if it was in a collection or anything, I didn't do any research. Check your clearance bins ladies, Ive been seeing lots of good stuff! (I've restrained myself for the most part though lol)
This is 2 coats, plus top coat. I used Revlon's 'Stunning' as my accent nail. This polish is a coral color (very reminiscent of WnW Tropicalia), it leans more on the coral pink side though, not coral orange. I held my hand up against my shirt in the below picture, as you can see my shirt is a coral orange color, this polish is much pinker.
I miss my coral so much! I've been slacking on using all my coral makeup that I love so much. So, we got reacquainted today ;-) I also busted out my Coastal Scents Hot Pots that I haven't used in a while. I don't know, they ar really great eye shadows. If you want to see swatches of what I have, you can click here. I also want to mention that you will notice below that I used a lot of different blushes. But as you can see from the pictures, I used a light hand, and lots of blending. I like the effect it gave.
I watched a video on youtube this morning of Kim Kardashian & her makeup artist doing her makeup and creating her smokey eye look. The MA used MAC's Contrast, and even though I have a similar color, I choose to go with another. I used the same technique however, and love how the eyes turned out. If you want to see exactly how to do this, search the youtube channel "MakeupCoutureTV" and you will see it.
I went on a search today for the new Maybelline Color Tattoos (I really want the beige one). I searched every Rite Aid & Walgreens in my area, much to no avail. Boo! Then of course I ended up at Meijer, usually I will find things there I can't find anywhere else. Still no Color Tattoos. I did however notice that Physicians Formula was 40% off. I couldn't pass it up. Their stuff is kinda pricey for drugstore, but Meijer is usually the cheapest I can find. So I pick up the things I wanted, all for under $20!
Funny story about todays makeup look: The last couple of days I've been into watching Netflix on my computer as I do my makeup. I usually just listen to Pandora, but whatever. Anyway, I'm big into movies from the 50's. I love Marilyn, Jane Russell, Mitzi Gaynor, etc... Today I was watching 'Gentlemen Marry Brunettes', which is a Jane Russell movie. I started off going for a super simple makeup look, but as I'm watching all these beautiful women in the movie, I realized I piled on tons of makeup LOL. I didn't opt for the classic red lip, but my eye look ended up being a tad dramatic for a Sunday afternoon. Ah, that's the fun of makeup though right? Starting off one way, and coming out the end a completely different way ;)
Hi dolls! I've been using my new Nude'Tude palette for the last 2 days now, and I must say I am IN LOVE. Such a great palette. I love the color selection, and the products themselves are just impeccable. Today I tried my hand at a smokey eye look, so if you want to see what I did, keep reading!
Hi my dolls! This post is pretty self explanatory, so I don't have much to say here lol. This is not the entire MegaLast collection, just the shades that I have. I seriously love these lipsticks. My only gripe (as I've stated before) is that they can be a tad drying. They do have good staying power, and are an amazing price.
Seriously, a haul 2 days in a row?? Yes, for real yo! I ordered a few things from HauteLook the last time the were featuring theBalm. I have been lusting and lusting after these things for SO long. Of course on HauteLook (if you are not familiar) everything is deeply discounted during flash sales. I bought everything at 50% retail, so I'm pretty pumped about that! There is one other blush I really want, super duper bad, but alas! It was not in the sale. Darn it!
I know there are TONS and TONS of swatches/photos/info blah blah blah about all these products online, so I will keep it short and sweet. If you are looking for these items also, keep checking HauteLook, they seem to have a flash sale on theBalm every 5 weeks or so =)
