Swatch: Wet n Wild 'Tropicalia'

I have to admit, that I did NOT like the new brush on this polish right away. As you may (or may not) know, Wet n Wild redesigned their MegaLast polishes. They are no longer in the small, squat round bottles. They have a new tall, square (yet round) bottle with a new brush. The brush is similar to that of OPI, but it larger. First thoughts? 'Holy crap, that's a HUGE brush!". Now that I've used it a couple times, I actually like it. The bigness of it helps to make the whole process go a lot quicker. It is easy to have some goof-ups, but not too bad. The formula on these polishes is actually pretty darn good, in my opinion. I have 3 shades now, and all 3 are close to one-coaters.

This specific color, Tropicalia, is not new to the line. Regardless, I LOVE it! It's such a beautiful, summery coral. Some corals tend to lean to the orange side, this one however leans more pink. I wore this shade 4 days, and only had minimal tip wear. I used two coats, and topped with Seche Vite.

Do you own this gorgeous polish? New formula or old, I want to know how you like it. Hopefully I'll be back with a new makeup look tomorrow. Happy Beautifying lovelies!

Mani Monday: China Glaze Dance Baby

When I purchased this polish a month or so ago, the lady at Sally's was wearing this color with China Glaze's Techno on top. I LOVED it, so that's why I picked this particular polish from the Electro Pop collection. I didn't however get Techno. Boo, sad. About 2 weeks ago I was poking around Meijer and saw this beautiful glitter, from Revlon, called Stunning. It seemed like it would do the job, and here we are!

This is 2 thick coats of China Glaze Dance Baby, and 1 coat (sort of placed with the brush) of Stunning. It's a little hard to get the holographic particles of Stunning to brush on to the nail, you have to strategically put them there. You know what I mean, Verne?

Enjoy!

My Look: Natural, With a Little Flair

First off, I look super pretty today (not to toot my own horn, because I never think that normally) but this was the ONLY halfway decent picture I took. I used a Cover Girl quad for this look today, it's called Urban Basics (and it sucks, don't waste your money). The quad consists of a lilac, tan, peach and white/ creme. All have some shimmer, and all are poorly pigmented. Boo! to that =(

Face:
  • Hard Candy Sheer Envy primer
  • Revlon Colorstay foundation
  • Maybelline Dream Matte powder
  • Rimmel Match Perfection concealer
  • NYC Smooth Skin Bronzer in Sunny
  • Cover Girl Cheekers blush in Pretty Peach
Eyes:
  • Cover Girl quad - Urban Basics:
  • Peach color on lid
  • Tan color in crease
  • White color as brow highlight
  • Maybelline Line Stiletto liquid liner - with a small wing at the end
  • Rimmel Scandal-Eyes mascara
Lips:
  • NYX lip liner in Nude Pink
  • NYX Mega Shine lip gloss in Nude Peach

I hope all you beauties had a better weekend than I did!

March Faves

I realize it's not quite the end of the month, but I felt like doing my favorites now anyway :-p I will gone next weekend (the end of the month) doing wedding festivities with my brother, so I figured now was a good time.

I do not have a TON of stuff, as there are things I am using every single day to use up. You can check out my post on that HERE. I will be posting on update to that very soon also.

My Newest Obsession - Peach/ Coral Blushes

So, this new kick of mine is all Sam Shuerman's fault. LOL  I was watching a video of hers last week (I love her!) and she used this L'Oreal blush. It was so beautiful that I HAD to have it a.s.a.p. She didn't know what the name of the color was, but I figured out by looking at them at the store what it was. It's the L'Oreal True Blend blush in Innocent Flush. LOVE!!!!! I love how the color looks on my skin, it's so gorgeous. So that kicked off my peachy/ coral colored blush kick. Sadly, I admit, I have purchased 5 new blushes in the last week or so. I did previously already have some of these shades prior to my blush binge. So lets take a look into my peachy/ coral blush collection.

* denotes one of my new beauties ;-)
L-R: *L'Oreal True Blend in Innocent Flush, *Milani Baked Blush in Corallina, Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

Milani Minerals in Mai Tai

Sephora Blush Me! Mono in Abricot Plaisir

*e.l.f Studio in Peachy Keen, e.l.f Studio in Candid Coral

*Jordana blush in Coral Sandy Beaches, *Cover Girl Cheekers in Pretty Peach

Too Faced blush/ bronze duo - Don't Call Me Poppy

I love all these blushes, but if I had to pick top faves I would say:
  • L'Oreal - Innocent Flush
  • Milani - Luminoso
  • e.l.f - Candid Coral
  • Jordana - Coral Sandy Beaches

I am a drugstore makeup junkie, as you know, so most of these were very inexpensive. The Too Faced is obviously a high end blush, but I received it in a kit as a gift. The most expensive was the L'Oreal at about $9. The Jordana I scored for $2.50 at KMart. The Sephora I got on clearance for $3, the Cover Girl was about $4. The Milani blushes run about $7, but I picked Mai Tai up on clearance for $1.68 (it's now discontinued). e.l.f Studio blushes are always $3, and you can find them primarily at Target, but they are now in KMart, and some Walmarts.

So what are you obsessed with right now? On my Facebook page I got answers of Benefit Posey Tint, and Tarte Amazonian Clay blush in Blushing Bride. How about YOU?

Later Lovelies!

My Look: Rebel Leprechaun

Yes, I am a rebel leprechaun because I didn't wear any green for St. Patrick's Day - I wore it the day after. I'm cool like that, haha! ;-) Although it doesn't look like it, my shirt stripes are green also (not yellow, stupid camera!)
I spent St. Patrick's Day with the family, celebrating my nieces 11th birthday (yesterday was her actual birthday, lucky ducky!) It was beautiful here in Michigan. I had on a summery neon top, capris and sunglasses. I actually got sunburned... in the winter. Weird. On to today's look!

My Look: Feeling Feminine

Yesterday afternoon found my baby, Max, and I at Plato's Closet doing a little shopping. I picked up quite a few things, one of them being the top I have on today. It's a pretty grey color, with lace around the top. The sleeves are ruffles and lace, very pretty. So having put this top on, I was feeling pretty feminine and cute today. I kept the makeup simple, and the hair is in a quick bun and a bow headband. For today's eye look I used my Wet n Wild Petal Pusher palette (it is the purple 8 pan palette).

My Look: Girls Night Out

I'm headed out with some of my favorite ladies tonight, so I'm all dolled up. I love it when I have lots of time to get ready, it gives me a chance to play around with my makeup =)  I also needed to practice false eyelashes, considering I have bridal makeup to do in a couple weeks. I figured now is as good an opportunity as any!

T.G.I.F!

This has been a long week for me. I am battling a sinus infection that is just killing my jaw and teeth. Ouch! I discovered TheSmallThingsBlog yesterday, and her amazingly simple hair-do's, and decided to try one out today. I believe this one is the 'Double Bun'. Turned out pretty cute, if I say so myself! =)

Tomorrow evening I'm off to spend some time with my BFF for her birthday. We are headed off to the comedy club. What are your plans this weekend?

MAC Rose Pigment

A while back I was at the MAC counter, and I ended up getting a pigment sample in the color 'Rose'. It's so gorgeous. A rosey pink color with gold flecks. I had not yet worn it, as pigments kind of freak me out. I don't know what to do with them LOL. I decided today was the day to venture out of my box and put this pigment to good use. I used a flat shadow brush (I actually used the one from the Naked 2 palette) and wet the brush. I then patted the pigment onto the brush, in the lid of the jar. I used a patting motion to apply it to my eyelids, then flipped the brush over and blended out the edge. I followed that up with a grey/beige color in the crease, and a cream highlight with little shimmer.

Face:
  • Hard Candy Sheer Envy primer
  • Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse foundation
  • Rimmel Match Perfection Concealer
  • NYX Stay Matte, Not Flat powder
  • ELF Golden Bronzer
  • Too Faced blush, 'Don't Call Me Poppy'
  • Physicians Formula Happy Booster highlight
Eyes:
  • MAC Painterly paint pot
  • MAC pigment in 'Rose'
  • Urban Decay 'Tease' (from Naked 2, in crease)
  • Urban Decay 'Bootycall' (from Naked 2, as brow highlight)
  • Maybelline Master Drama liner 'Made of Steel' (lower lash line)
  • Urban Decay 'Pistol' (from Naked 2, smudged over silver liner)
  • Maybelline Line Stiletto liquid eyeliner
  • Rimmel Scandal-Eyes mascara

Happy Beautifying Lovelies!!
