My Look: Get Up & Get Ready!

I was requested by a reader to do a look for when you need to get ready quickly. This is what I came up with. I skipped eyeliner, as I usually do, and went for a more natural, glowy look. You know me, I love my peachy colors, and I pretty much stuck with that. I hope this lives up to what you were looking for Liz! =)

5 Series: Heavenly Highlights

I feel like I am doing all "filler posts" lately. Grrr. I just haven't had time to take pictures the last few days. My apologies!! Ce la vie I suppose. These are all posts I've been meaning to get done anyway.

Today I have 5 beautiful highlight colors for you all. These were (obviously) the hardest to capture on camera, but they are all beautiful eye shadows nonetheless. Swatches were done over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk.

L - R:
Wet n Wild - Brulee'
MAC - Naked Lunch
Urban Decay - Vanilla
NYX - Aloha
Wet n Wild - Comfort Zone palette ( Left side brow bone)

I think NYX's Aloha is actually my favorite. It has that pinky undertone to it, which I love. What your go-to brow bone highlight?

My Look: Coral Crush

Today I have a look using my Too Faced Summer Eye palette. Too Faced palettes come with these little cards with different makeup looks on them. The cards and the palette both are labeled "Day", "Classic" and "Fashion". I attempted to duplicate the "Classic" look from the cards. Attempted being the key word in that sentence, haha.

Face:
Hard Candy Sheer Envy primer
Neutrogena Healthy Skin foundation
Maybelline Mineral Power concealer
ELF Golden bronzer
(Darker colors as a contour/ blush combo. Lightest shade as highlight)

Eyes:
MAC paint pot in Painterly
Peach Fuzz from lashes to brow
Coral Crush on lid
Chocolate Sun in the crease and under lower lash line
NYC bronzer in Sunny to blend out the crease (I found the 1st brown too harsh)
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Demolition (outer half lid, lower waterline)
Maybelline Falsies Flared mascara

Lips:
Revlon Lip Butter in Tutti Fruitti

5 Series: Gorgeous Golds

For today's installment of the 5 Series, I have 5 beautiful gold eye shadows for you. I don't know about you, but there is something about gold eye shadow that makes me feel extra glamorous when I wear it. How about you? It's such a nice alternative to wearing brown and taupe for a neutral eye look.

Swatches are over top of NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk. The top is in more light, the bottom is in more shade.

L - R:
Urban Decay - Half Baked
Too Faced - Honey Pot
WnW - I'm Getting Sunburned trio (lid shade)
Urban Decay - Chase
L'Oreal Hip Duo - Bustling (lighter shade)

On a totally unrelated note: the boys and I got a little surprise from my husband yesterday. Ok, it's not that little, it's about 50lbs ;-)

This is our new baby boy, CJ. He's a Lab/ Shepard / who knows what else mix. He's about 7 months old, and he's the sweetest. Such a good puppy =) The boys and I are super thrilled to have this adorable little guy come into our lives. Thanks babe!

Swatchfest: Too Faced Summer Eye palette

As you know, I purchased the new Too Faced Summer Eye palette the other day. I had to ask for it at Sephora because it wasn't on display yet. But they pulled one out of the drawer, and I was the first purchaser ;-) Super exciting, I assure you. So here are some pictures and swatches, and I will post my initial impressions at the bottom. Enjoy!

L - R:
Sugar Sand - Plumeria - Cocoa Beach - Peach Fuzz - Coral Crush - Chocolate Sun -
Sunbeam - Mermaid - Toasted Coconut

Toasted Coconut - Mermaid - Sunbeam - Chocolate Sun - Coral Crush - Peach Fuzz -
Cocoa Beach - Plumeria - Sugar Sand

My favorite shades of this palette would be: Sugar Sand (reminds me of Urban Decay's Sin a little bit), Mermaid, and Toasted Coconut (such a nice warm brown). I do like all of the shades, those are just my favorites. The only one I could care less for would be Sunbeam. Both Sunbeam and Peach Fuzz have TONS of glitter, but at least with Peach Fuzz, the eye shadow actually shows up. I feel like when I apply Sunbeam I get all glitter and no eye shadow. Kind of annoying. You can even see by the swatches that it just looks poopy. Boo!

Overall, I really like this palette as a whole. It has some very beautiful brown shades, very warm toned. I love the pinks because they are not overbearing (Urban Decay Woodstock anyone?). Lastly, who doesn't love coral, I mean come on! ;-)  I give this palette an A-.  If it weren't for that crappy Sunbeam shade, and the $36 price tag, I'd give it an A+.

My Look: Feeling a Bit Pinkish

I did start the day out sticking to my schedule. I wore my Wet n Wild trio in Walking on Eggshells. Fast forward 5 hours and I find myself at Sephora asking for the Too Faced Summer Eye palette. Bad Manda, Bad! I REALLY don't need anymore makeup, but I REALLY wanted this palette. I feel like I should put warning posters of myself up in all cosmetic related stores, so people will stop me. What am I talking about? That wouldn't stop me LOL!

I wanted to play with my new palette, but I didn't want to redo everything, so I just stuck to colors I was already wearing, for a little touch up. I will post pictures later of the palette, and possibly some swatches. If you can't wait for me, you can check HERE at Musings of a Muse. For sake of this post, I'll just fill you in that I am initially wearing W on E: cream as highlight, pink as lid and crease, brown for liner.

My Look: It's A Two-fer!

So a little back story before I get into today's look of the day..... Yesterday I was EXHAUSTED. I laid down on the couch at 5pm and dozed for the next hour. I then got up, washed my faced, put pajamas on, and went to bed at 6:30pm. LOSER. Luckily my husband made dinner and took care of the boys. Thanks babe! Needless to say, I got up at 5 this morning, ready to go. I had an hour and half before I even had to get my kids up for school, lol. I actually got to curl my hair for work this morning.

I decided to go for a nice, neutral cat eye today. I used my Coastal Scents 88 Warm palette to create this day look. Keep reading for more info!

Product Use - Up: Update #1

To see my original post about this, please check here.

I have 5 products used up in the almost 8 weeks I've been doing this. (8 weeks?! I seriously thought it had only been about 3 or 4 LOL!) One product was not on my original list, but I did finish it, so it counts as something gone. =)

1) John Frieda Sheer Blonde Tone Corrector shampoo
2) Philosophy Happy Birthday body wash
3) Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse foundation
4) Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara
5) ELF eyelid primer

That's where I'm at so far! Thanks for reading loves!!

My Look: Urban Flower

Welcome to Random Drugstore Monday! lol I actually have less 'random drugstore' eye palettes than I thought I did. Ah, well I still came up with something today, didn't I? =)

How is everyone else's Monday going so far? Mine is pretty darn good! Spring Break is over (whoo hoo!) School, and work, are back to our normally scheduled programming. I love, love, LOVE my children. However, 11 straight days with nothing to do but beat the crap out of each other gets old quickly. Back to makeup....

My Look: Un-picture-ific Day

I absolutely LOVED my makeup today. However, I don't think any of these pictures are blog worthy. My hair looked super cute, but it didn't translate into photos, and I just look sloppy today. My apologizes for that!
